Torrance and state narcotics officers reportedly arrested eight people and seized 65 pounds of cocaine worth about $18 million but declined to say where the arrests were made and who the suspects were. Torrance Police Lt. Nolan Dane said his reluctance to give details was based on the fact that the case “has an extremely excellent potential” for leading to more arrests. He called the raids “the first in a continuing investigation of large quantities of cocaine in the South Bay area.”
