Superior Court Judge Leonard Goldstein was named chairman and Harold J. Taback was named co-chairman for the Hebrew Union College Orange County Friends. The organization provides scholarships for the college, which specializes in training rabbis, cantors, Jewish educators and communal workers.

Taback is a consulting engineer with Irvine-based KVB, a combustion-engineering company, and is vice president of the education and youth departments at Temple Beth Sholom in Santa Ana.

Goldstein serves on the board at Temple Shir Ha Ma’Alot in Newport Beach. Both are Santa Ana residents.

A program of pictures and music entitled “Masterworks of Art in Celebration of the Passion” will be held from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. March 24 at St. Michael and All Angels Church, 3233 Pacific View Drive, Corona del Mar.

Mozart’s “Requiem” will accompany the projection of slides showing how artists working in different mediums and various periods of history have celebrated the last days and hours of Christ’s life.

The Rev. Phillip Zampino, international evangelist, will be featured at special services March 24 through 26 at St. James Episcopal Church in Newport Beach.

Zampino ministers to congregations through worship, teaching, preaching and healing. The schedule includes a teaching service for 7:30 p.m. March 24, a women’s meeting at 10 a.m. and a teaching service at 7:30 p.m. March 25, a clergy meeting for all local area ministers at 10 a.m. and a healing service at 7:30 p.m. March 26.

Friends of Trinity Arts will present a series of concerts, featuring the University String Quartet, beginning at 7 p.m. March 24 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Orange. Selections by Mozart, Haydn and Beethoven will be performed.

The Modjeska Piano Trio will play April 28, and a solo performance by Kevin Imbimbo will be presented May 19. He will perform selections by Chopin, Mozart and Schumann.

Johann Sebastian Bach’s 300th birthday will be celebrated at the 8, 9:30 and 11 a.m. services Sunday at Abiding Savior Lutheran Church in El Toro. Organist Mille Behnken of Mission Viejo, the chapel choir and the school choir will perform music by the Baroque-era composer.

Linda Algazi, clinical psychologist and licensed marriage, family and child counselor, will address the congregation at 10:30 a.m. Sunday at Orange Coast Unitarian Universalist Church, 1259 Victoria St., Costa Mesa.

Algazi, a syndicated columnist and one of the founders of the UC Irvine Women’s Center, will speak on “Superwomen: Are the Stars on Their Leotards for Real?” Lunch will follow the service.
