Keeping the heat on suspected drug traffickers, police and sheriff’s deputies arrested more than 120 people and seized narcotics valued at more than $200,000 in a two-day series of sweeps and raids in Los Angeles and several suburbs, authorities said Saturday.

More than 100 Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies raided nine locations in Compton, Lynwood and parts of South Los Angeles Friday, Deputy Mason Kenney said.

One raid in Compton turned up 2 1/2 gallons of liquid PCP valued at $200,000, the deputy said. Deputies arrested five suspects, including Douglas McGuiller, 20, who was booked for investigation of possessing PCP for sale. He is being held in lieu of $50,000 bail. Officers also confiscated small amounts of heroin, cocaine and a variety of explosives and weapons, Kenney said.

In a separate action, deputies and Pasadena police also arrested 56 people Friday, including 33 people taken into custody in connection with alleged street sales of cocaine, marijuana and PCP, authorities said.

Los Angeles police arrested 63 people on various drug charges during raids on eight drug “hot spots” in South-Central Los Angeles on Thursday and Friday. One of those arrested was identified as Whitney Christy, who had been sought by the FBI as a suspect in several Los Angeles bank robberies.

Other suspects, including five juveniles, were booked for investigation of possessing and selling heroin, cocaine, marijuana and PCP. Officers confiscated $1,860 in cash along with small quantities of heroin, rock cocaine, marijuana and PCP-laced cigarettes.
