Local News in Brief : Public Hearing Set on Encino Sign Ordinance

Aproposed Encino sign ordinance, which would require the removal of 40% of the signs along Ventura Boulevard, will be the subject of a public hearing at 9 a.m. Monday at the Van Nuys Woman’s Club, 14836 Sylvan St., Van Nuys.

The ordinance would limit the number, size, height and placement of signs and would prohibit any new billboards. The document was drafted by city planners and has been endorsed by City Councilman Marvin Braude, who represents Encino.

A hearing examiner for the Los Angeles City Planning Commission will conduct the proceedings. The city has invited all interested people to voice their opinions by attending the hearing or by writing the Planning Commission, City Hall, Room 503, 200 N. Spring St., Los Angeles, CA 90012.
