SERVICE SET FOR ANTHROPOLOGIST
A memorial service for Barbara Myerhoff will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in USC’s Hancock Auditorium.
An anthropologist/writer, Myerhoff was a USC faculty member from 1966 to her death in January. She won an Oscar in 1977 for the screenplay of the documentary “Number Our Days,” as well as two Los Angeles-area Emmy Awards for best achievement in documentary short subjects.
Excerpts from “The Culture of the Fairfax Film Project,” a project she was working on at the time of her death, will be shown at the service. A reception will follow at 3 p.m. at the USC Faculty Center.
