El Toro : Art Auctions Dropped at Bob Hope Marine Event

Share

Art auctions that were to have been part of the Bob Hope Marine Air Golf Invitational Weekend on April 27-28 have been dropped from the itinerary of events. The weekend is sponsored by the 1985 Navy Relief Society, a nonprofit organization that assists Navy and Marine Corps members and their families. All proceeds will go to the society.

According to Col. Ed Baker of the El Toro Marine Corps Air Station, the Marine Corps and the Art Registry Title Inc. were unable to agree on coordinating the details regarding the administration and management of the auctions. Baker is director of the 1985 Navy Relief Fund Drive.

All other scheduled events remain unchanged and include the invitational golf tournament, hosted by Bob Hope; a luncheon and fashion show featuring the “Dynasty” collection, and a banquet to honor Hope.
