A class-action employment discrimination complaint was filed against the Los Angeles County Health Services Department. Lawyers for the Asian Pacific American Legal Center and the Center for Law in the Public Interest said that they are representing a group of Asian employees in the complaint filed with the state Department of Fair Employment and Housing. If this process fails to bring a satisfactory solution, the lawyers said, employees may file suit to resolve the issue. The attorneys said that 15% of the Health Services Department’s employees are Asian but few are in supervisory positions.
