NIT Roundup : Fresno St. Will Play UCLA at Pauley Saturday

UCLA will play host to Fresno State at Pauley Pavilion Saturday night at 7:30 in the quarterfinals of the National Invitation Tournament, officials announced Wednesday night after the second round was concluded.

In another game Saturday, Virginia will be at Tennessee. Sunday, Marquette will play at Indiana, and Tennessee Chattanooga will play at Louisville. The semifinals and final will be played at Madison Square Garden in New York March 27 and 29.

Wednesday’s games:

Tennessee Chattanooga 85, Lamar 84--Sophomore guard James Hunter scored on a baseline drive with nine seconds left in overtime to lift the Moccasins (24-7) past the Cardinals (20-12) at Beaumont, Tex.

Louisville 68, South Florida 61--Manual Forrest scored 21 points and the Cardinals (18-16) held the Bulls (18-12) scoreless for the first 5:45 of the second half to build up a 17-point lead at Louisville.

Tennessee 73, SW Louisiana 72--Tony White hit a basket and then two free throws with four seconds left at Knoxville to cap a comeback that brought the Volunteers (20-14) from five points back with 26 seconds left to a victory over the Rajun Cajuns (17-14) at Knoxville, Tenn.
