TV TALK SHOW TO DEBUT ON CABLE SYSTEMS

“Crosstalk,” a new 30-minute weekly talk show created by the communication arts department at Saddleback College’s Mission Viejo campus, is being carried each Thursday on several south Orange County cable systems.

“The show will focus on pertinent issues of particular concern to the residents of this area,” said “Crosstalk” producer and host Terry Wedel. “(Orange County public television station) KOCE Channel 50 has been doing this sort of show for years and doing a good job. But there are now over 2 million people in this county, and it deserves at least one other show of this type.”

The premiere show on March 14 examined the south county’s unincorporated communities. Other programs will deal with transportation issues, airport facilities, teen-age suicide, the role of community colleges in California and problems facing local school districts and how they deal with them.

Wedel said, “ ‘Crosstalk’ will feature guests who may not always see eye-to-eye on a particular topic, but it’s not designed to be a confrontational show necessarily.”

The show airs Thursdays on four cable systems at the following times: 6 p.m. on TM Dimension Cable Channel 3 in Tustin, Mission Viejo, Capistrano Beach, San Clemente, El Toro and Camp Pendleton; 6:30 p.m. on Storer TV Channel 6 in Laguna Beach, San Juan Capistrano and Dana Point; 7:30 p.m. on Community Cablevision Channel 3 in Irvine, and noon on RETV Communications Systems Channel 6 in Leisure World.
