Hotel Nevada Corp. filed under Chapter 11.

The company's casino in Las Vegas was ordered closed by Nevada's gaming control board but, before the order could be carried out, the firm filed for protection. Because of the filing, the casino will remain open. The board ordered the casino closed after one of the firm's unions won a $240,000 judgment against the company. The board also said the company's cash flow was not up to Nevada's gaming standards. The judgment resulted from a dispute between the firm and one of its unions over pension funds.
