Share

The trial of Randy Steven Kraft, accused of 16 Orange County murders and considered a suspect in numerous others, has been postponed from June 17 until Dec. 2, at the request of defense attorneys.

The 39-year-old Long Beach man has been granted numerous trial delays since his arrest nearly two years ago. Superior Court Judge James K. Turner approved the latest rescheduling without objection from Deputy Dist. Atty. Bryan Brown.

Defense attorneys told the court they needed more time to handle numerous motions connected with the case.

Kraft was arrested by California Highway Patrol officers May 14, 1983, when they stopped him for erratic driving on Interstate 5 in the Mission Viejo area and found a dead or dying Marine in the front seat of his car.
