TreePeople Honor Bradley, Executives

Share

Mayor Tom Bradley and three corporate executives were honored by TreePeople, the arboreal advocacy group, at its first Springwood awards dinner at the Biltmore. The awards, wood sculptures by artist Gary Burns, are named for the first new annual growth on trees.

Founded 15 years ago by Andy Lipkis, TreePeople last year documented the planting of more than one million trees by area residents before the Olympic Games.

Honored for their support of the million-tree campaign, in addition to Bradley, were Atlantic Richfield President William F. Kieschnick, General Telephone Co. of California President David E. Anderson and Tom Van Amburg, general manager of KABC-TV. Van Amburg’s award was accepted by Milli Martinez, Channel 7 director of news operations.
