Veteran Oceanside Police Officer Rex Nemeyer on Friday was ordered to stand trial on nine drug-related charges. Nemeyer, a 13-year-veteran of the department, is charged with providing cocaine to Roberta Fierra, an admitted prostitute. Fierra, who said she is a former heroin addict, testified at a preliminary hearing that Nemeyer gave her the drugs because he wanted to have sex with her. Oceanside police arrested her last year and she agreed to become an informant. Nemeyer will return to Superior Court April 5 for arraignment and to set a trial date. He is charged with six counts of selling cocaine, one count of selling amphetamines, one count of possession of cocaine and one count of misappropriating property from the police property room.
