Dirk Graham and Neal Broten scored goals 13 seconds apart late in the third period to rally the Minnesota North Stars to a 5-3 victory over the Vancouver Canucks Monday night.

Graham scored the tying goal with 3:15 left in the game when he back-handed a rebound off a shot by Jim Archibald over fallen Canucks goalie Frank Caprice.

Then Broten, who also assisted on Graham’s goal, scored his 18th goal of the season to win the game. He carried the puck up the right side, moved in on Caprice, and flipped it over the goaltender’s glove.

Steve Payne scored an open-net goal with one second left to ice the game for Minnesota, which moved one point ahead of fourth-place Detroit in the Norris Division.

Tony Tanti scored his 37th goal of the season to give Vancouver a 3-2 lead 2:38 into the final period. Michel Petit centered a pass from the side of the net that went through the legs of North Stars goalie Don Beaupre. Tanti stopped the puck with his skate and sticked the puck past Beaupre.
