Fishing Report : Winds Hold Down Southland Activity

Share

Windy weather has kept most Southland salt water fishing activity to a minimum this week.

Reports from U.S. anglers at Cabo San Lucas indicate windy weather is hampering anglers there, too. Reports from mainland Mexico, however, are that results have been good all week at Zihuatanejo and Acapulco for sailfish, and an occasonal 200- to 500-pound blue marlin.

High winds dropped fishing pressure at Southland reservoirs to almost nothing for much of this week, but the weather didn’t stop fishermen at San Diego County lakes from a productive haul of big largemouth bass.

At Lake Otay this week, nine bass weighing between 10 and 14 pounds were checked in. At Lake Hodges, eight 12-pound bass were caught.
