Amnesty International is satisfied that accused Nazi war criminal Andrija Artukovic is receiving adequate treatment in a federal prison hospital at Springfield, Mo., a spokeswoman for the organization said here last week.

Radoslav Artukovic, son of the 85-year-old Seal Beach resident who is wanted by Yugoslavia for alleged involvement in the killing of 750,000 Serbs, Jews and Gypsies, had complained that his father was not receiving proper medical treatment or proper physical care.

Mary Daly, communications director for Amnesty International, said that Norman Carlson, director of the U.S. Bureau of Prisons, had responded to an inquiry about the son’s allegations and that “we are satisfied with the reply.”

The elder Artukovic has been ordered extradited to Yugoslavia to face a single murder charge.
