Sheriff’s deputies have arrested five men suspected of breaking into hundreds of cars in eastern Los Angeles County to steal everything from microwave ovens to an antique violin, authorities said. The suspects, ranging in age from 18 to 22, are all residents of La Puente. Deputies said they recovered at least $12,000 worth of allegedly stolen property, including guns, musical instruments, cameras, microwave ovens and typewriters. Deputy Mason Kenny said the men specialized in breaking into the trunks of late-model Japanese cars and stealing newly purchased merchandise. The suspects are Armando Aquino, 21; Manuel Guillen, 22; Howard Hyatt, 18; Sergio Lopez, 18, and Armando Moreno, 20. They were booked at the Sheriff’s Department’s Industry Station for investigation of burglary and are being held in lieu of $2,500 bail each.
