Visa and MasterCard will issue a joint bad card list.

The big credit card firms reported that they will consolidate their warning bulletins to merchants starting in October. The list will include account numbers of lost, stolen and counterfeit MasterCard and Visa cards. Combining the two bulletins into a single publication is expected to save as much as $5 million a year, officials of the two firms said.
