A Huntington Beach pizza parlor was robbed of $3,000 early Monday by three armed men who kidnaped the manager, police said.

According to investigators, the manager of a Chuck E. Cheese’s Pizza Time Theatre on Edwards Avenue was cashing a personal check at a nearby automatic banking machine when he was accosted shortly after midnight by the three men who apparently thought he was depositing the business’s receipts.

The robbers drove the manager back to the restaurant, which was closed, and forced him to open the doors. The manager and a video game technician who was working inside at the time were ordered to turn over the money, and one of the holdup men put a gun near the technician’s head and fired it. He was not hit.

After tying up the manager and technician and cutting the telephone line, the robbers drove off, police said. No suspects have been arrested and police declined to identify the two victims.
