The next president of Citrus College will be chosen from among 74 candidates under review by a presidential search committee. The new president--who will be the fourth in the college’s 70-year history--is scheduled to succeed Dan Angel by July 1. Angel resigned Jan. 1 to become president of Austin Community College in Texas. The seven-member search committee of college trustees, faculty, management and classified employees will forward an unranked list of 8 to 12 candidates to the college board of trustees, who will make a final selection. The college reports that 65 of the candidates hold doctorates, 68 are male and six are female.
