A thousand thanks to a “marginally talented” (compared to whom?) Bob Geldof for revealing the futility of trying to involve American musicians in Band-Aid’s efforts to aid Ethiopia before it became a lucrative PR tactic.

I dare say that if “Do They Know It’s Christmas” had not been so successful, had it not garnered worldwide praise for the truly concerned artists involved, there never would have been a “USA for Africa.”
