Chargers Sign Defensive End

The San Diego Chargers announced Friday that they have signed defensive end Earl Wilson, who played the last three seasons with the Toronto Argonauts of the Canadian Football League.

Wilson, 6-foot-4, 265 pounds from the University of Kentucky, had six quarterback sacks in 1984 for Toronto. He had a total of 18 sacks in his three years with the league.

The Chargers also announced the signing of nine other free agents, bringing their roster to 73 players, who will report to the National Football League team’s two mini-camps scheduled May 3-5 and May 10-12.

The players signed include four defensive backs, two offensive linemen, two special teams players and one linebacker.
