UC Irvine Easily Wins in Tennis, 9-0

UC Irvine men’s tennis team easily defeated the University of New Mexico, 9-0, in Friday’s opening round of the Pacific Coast Athletic Assn. team tournament at UC Santa Barbara.

Anteater No. 1 singles player, Bruce Man Son Hing defeated John Swensk, 6-1, 6-3. Irvine’s No. 2 player, Ken Durr, who took the place of the sick Brad Ackerman, defeated Sean Cartright, 6-0, 6-2. Durr is 21-8 this season, and Man Son Hing is 20-11.

Irvine, 23-8 and ranked 18th in the nation, will play Fresno State today at 1 p.m. at Santa Barbara.
