USA for Africa shouldn’t give itself too big of a hand. Not only is the song amateurish, too long and repetitive, but they certainly aren’t the first ones to do it, as is being claimed.

A prime example is the announcement at the end of the video. “Now that they have started the ball rolling. . . .” As I and many others will recall, Band Aid was the first, and produced a song far exceeding the qualities of USA’s song. It is also evident that Band-Aid’s members care a lot more personally.
