U.S. Envoy in Jordan to Meet With Hussein
Assistant Secretary of State Richard W. Murphy, arrived in Amman on Saturday on the first leg of a tour to explore ways of reviving the Mideast peace process.
Murphy was to meet with Jordanian leaders, including King Hussein, to discuss recent efforts by Jordan and Palestine Liberation Organization Chairman Yasser Arafat to boost the process.
Arafat, who arrived in Amman on Wednesday, stayed on in the Jordanian capital, but held no further meetings with Jordanian officials following his consultations with Hussein on Wednesday and Thursday.
