Richard Alexander was appointed mayor for a one-year term at Monday night’s City Council meeting. Alexander, who was first elected to the council in 1974, was unanimously voted in by the five-member council. He replaces Paul Jacobs, who also served a one-year term.
Jacobs was named chairman of the city’s Redevelopment Agency and Richard Brundo was appointed vice mayor.
