A 37-year-old Fullerton woman was killed Thursday in Chino when she tried to avoid a car that had crossed her path and was hit by another motorist, the California Highway Patrol said.
Sharon K. Baker was pronounced dead at Chino Community Hospital shortly after the 11:50 a.m. accident.
A CHP spokesman said Baker was traveling south on Euclid Avenue when a car driven by Robert Korando, 64, of Ontario pulled out of the parking lot of the California Youth Authority office. Baker swerved to avoid a collision and was hit head-on by a car driven by Donald Musselman, 64, of Upland.
Musselman also was taken to Chino Community Hospital, where he was listed in serious condition with various injuries. Korando was not injured, the CHP spokesman said.
