Perilous Chemicals Left on Camarillo Roadside

More than a dozen barrels of hazardous chemicals found alongside a Camarillo road Friday were removed by a hazardous waste team, the Ventura County Fire Department reported.

Dispatcher Debra Zinskey said the containers, which were upright and not leaking, contained mostly ethyl ether anhydrous, an extremely flammable compound often used as an industrial solvent.

She said officials had no information on who left the barrels along La Loma Avenue in the Camarillo Heights area.
