An American Airlines Boeing 727 en route to Dallas shut down one of its three engines and returned to San Diego after a cockpit warning light flashed 50 miles east of San Diego. The plane landed without incident or injury. Mechanics worked on the plane’s engines for 30 minutes and the flight took off again later.
