‘Pig in a Poke’

The majority of elderly on Social Security who voted for Ronald Reagan because he promised to protect their benefits bought “a pig in a poke.” Now they’re getting the “poke.”
I have an elderly friend who bought a used car with a nice paint job and when told that the car was a “junker” she kept repeating, “But the car dealer was such a nice man.”
