A dozen people were arrested and cited for misdemeanor trespassing after they sat in a road leading to the California Primate Research Center at the University of California, Davis, to protest what the Animal Rights Direct Action Coalition called “atrocious conditions” at the laboratory. The protesters were released and ordered to appear in court May 8. A similar protest was planned for Tolman Hall on the University of California’s Berkeley campus.
