Joiner, Chargers Agree on Another One-Year Contract; Ricardo Signs

Charlie Joiner, the Chargers’ 38-year-old wide receiver, Tuesday signed another one-year agreement to pursue the passes of Dan Fouts.

Joiner is No. 1 on the all-time pass-receiving list, having moved past Charlie Taylor (649) last year. Joiner caught 61 passes in 1985, elevating him to 657 for his career.

Last summer, Joiner sought a two-year contract but was rebuffed by the Chargers.

The Chargers also announced the signing of place-kicker Benny Ricardo, who will challenge Rolf Benirschke for the No. 1 job.
