The Alhambra City Council has given Police Chief Joseph Molloy the additional title of public service director, with responsibility for both the police and fire departments. The fire chief will continue to manage the Fire Department, but will report to Molloy. City Manager Kevin Murphy said the reorganization will streamline management by reducing the number of administrators reporting to the city manager and should increase coordination between firemen and policemen.
