fashionable feminism?

Contrary to what you evidently believe, the majority of women who read your fashion pages are neither Monica Moneybags nor Brenda Bucks. Shirts for $198, dresses for $1,090, pajamas for $120, jackets for $550, pants for $310, etc., etc., etc. Those who can afford those kinds of prices probably attend exclusive fashion shows and don’t need to read your ads, and those of us “commoners” who shop at the May Co., The Broadway or Ohrbach’s don’t need to drool with frustrated envy over your fashions. Why, one of those outfits would possibly pay a month’s rent for a middle-class family, and maybe even the utility bills as well. Why don’t you come down from that jewel-encrusted ivory tower and see what the middle class is wearing, and what fashions they can afford to buy. That could be about 99% of your subscribers.
