A wheelchair-bound man accused of robbing a hamburger stand, taking hostages and shooting a woman was jailed without bond Saturday.

Edward G. Crawford, 33, of Baytown, Tex., whose legs were amputated after a train accident in 1976, faces charges of attempted capital murder, aggravated kidnaping and five counts of aggravated robbery.

Roberta Rose Hinkle, 62, the woman shot in Thursday’s robbery, was in poor condition Saturday.
