The Jerde Partnership, Los Angeles, has been selected to design the 125,000 to 200,000 square feet of specialty retail and restaurant space in the planned $500-million Silicon Valley Financial Center in downtown San Jose.
Jerde will work in concert with Halcyon Ltd. of Hartford, Conn., a retail consulting firm. The mixed-use redevelopment project is being developed by Kimball Small Properties, Santa Clara, and Campeau Corp. California, San Francisco.
In addition to the retail area, expected to be a two-level, open-air facility with underground parking, the center will include a 581-room Fairmont convention hotel, 2 million square feet of office space, 700 residential units and about 5,000 parking spaces.
