Boston High-Tech Company to Acquire 3 Buildings in Agoura

Teradyne Inc., a Boston-based manufacturer of computer and semi-conductor test equipment, has signed a contract with Katell Properties Inc. of Torrance, to buy three two-story buildings in the projected $75-million, 33-acre business park at Reyes Adobe Road and the Ventura Freeway, Agoura Hills.
Subject to city approval, a June ground breaking is planned for the park, according to Gerald L. Katell, president of Katell Properties, which is developing the park in partnership with Ahmanson Commercial Development Co., a wholly owned subsidiary of H. F. Ahmanson & Co., Los Angeles.
Teradyne’s research and development buildings, to be located on 18 1/2 acres, are valued at $37.4 million and contain 360,000 square feet. It is estimated that the facility will employ 2,000 people.
The exterior of the buildings will feature textured concrete and tinted glass with dramatic lobby and entrance areas. All three buildings will front the Ventura Freeway.
Project architect is Herbert Nadel & Partners of Santa Monica, with construction by Keller Construction Co. Inc., El Monte. Civic Engineering Corp. of Tarzana is handling civil engineering and POD Inc., Los Angeles, is the landscape architect.
