San Diego Teleguide has signed a contract to include information about the San Diego Zoo on public information terminals at the zoo and Wild Animal Park as well as on Teleguide’s 150 public terminals around the city.

The Price Co., expanding eastward, has bought 10.1 acres in Philadelphia, where it plans to open the 26th Price Club in the fall.

San Diego Gas & Electric customers could save about $800,000 per year because the utility has elected to recall its $13.2 million in outstanding 16% interest bonds, company officials said. The bonds will be replaced by 8.5% California Pollution Control bonds issued in December.

Residential unit permit authorizations for San Diego County in the first quarter hit 8,350, the fifth-highest first quarter on record, the Greater San Diego Chamber of Commerce reported.

SDNB Financial Corp., holding company for San Diego National Bank, reported that total assets grew by 13% to $75.3 million for the quarter ended March 31. Deposits in the first quarter also grew by 13%, to $60.4 million.

National Telecommunicator Network in Carlsbad agreed to an acquisition of 100% of its shares by Alroy Industries, in a reverse purchase agreement. Alroy will change its name to NTN Communications Inc. and the existing NTN management and shareholders will control the new company. NTN makes personal communications products, including QB1, a computer football game.

Despite an 11% increase in revenue to $2.1 million, Monitor Labs reported a 42% drop in earnings to $38,263 for the first quarter ended March 31. The company has predicted it will break even for the year because of investments in its new line of vision inspection equipment.

PSA will increase its daily flight schedule by 45 starting this month, with a push in the Pacific Northwest markets. In support of the 13% increase in flights, PSA has contracted with Midway Airlines Inc. of Chicago to lease two McDonnell-Douglas Super 80s for two years. That brings PSA’s fleet to 28 Super 80s, eight BAe 146s and four DC9-30s. Also, PSA has reduced the seating capacity on its British-built BAes from 100 to 85, based on passenger-comfort surveys.

National Micronetics reported a $1.5-million loss for the third quarter ended March 31, a drop from the $1.4-million profit announced a year earlier. Sales fell 27% to $13.2 million compared to the year before, but were up 11% from the previous quarter’s total.

Great American First Savings Bank increased its quarterly payment by 20%, to 12 cents per share.

Home Federal Savings and Loan reported earnings of $20.3 million, or 99 cents per share, for the first quarter ended March 31, up 64 %. Net interest income for the quarter rose 52% to $52.9 million.
