Maryland Residents Find Secret Service Training Next Door

WASHINGTON —
Suburban Maryland residents surprised by low-flying helicopters and bursts of gunfire have been told that an abandoned hospital building is being used by the Secret Service and police for secret training.
The agency reportedly obtained a license from the District of Columbia to use the old Glen Dale Hospital in Maryland for training exercises, which Secret Service spokesman Jack Taylor declined to discuss Monday.
The Secret Service is charged with protecting the President and other dignitaries.
