Man Slain After Wounding Two, Shooting Up Town

HARTLAND, Me. —
A 35-year-old man walked down Main Street blasting away with a shotgun Friday, wounding a sheriff’s deputy and a resident and shooting holes in downtown stores and homes before he was shot to death by state troopers. He was identified as Harland Brown of Hartland.
