Police arrested a 19-year-old Chicago woman Thursday in connection with the death of a newborn infant found in a garbage dumpster.

Angela Starkey was arrested at Tri-City Hospital, shortly after police recovered the body of a 1-day-old boy from a garbage dumpster near the apartment complex where Starkey had been staying with her brother, police spokesman Tom Bussey said.

According to police, Starkey arrived at the hospital Thursday afternoon complaining of excessive bleeding. She reportedly told doctors there she had been raped. The examining physician told Starkey it appeared she had recently given birth, which she denied, police said. Starkey was arrested on suspicion of murder. She is in custody at the hospital.
