Vacancy Rate for San Diego Offices Climbs

The suburban office-rental vacancy rate in San Diego has climbed to 14.72% during the first quarter of 1985, with the addition of three new office buildings, according to a survey by the downtown San Diego office of Coldwell Banker Commercial Real Estate Services.

Analysis of office space outside the downtown area covered 95 buildings with 6,245,501 square feet of available office space, of which 919,501 square feet were unoccupied.

Eldon Thompson, Coldwell Banker leasing specialist, noted that Mission Valley’s office vacancy rate dropped from 16% to 14% in the three-month period.
