Laguna Niguel : Mock Trial Will Show Public How Courts Work
- Share via
If you can’t tell the difference between an arraignment and an acquittal or have always wanted to serve on a jury but somehow missed out on the fun, you may attend a mock burglary trial Tuesday at the South Orange County Municipal Court in Laguna Niguel.
The mock trial, to be presided over by Municipal Judge Pam Iles, will offer citizens an opportunity to learn how the judicial process works in California.
San Clemente and Laguna Beach police officers will play the roles of arresting officers, witnesses and defendants, while actual lawyers will prosecute and defend before a jury selected from the audience.
The event will begin at 6 p.m. at the courthouse, located at 30143 Crown Valley Parkway in Laguna Niguel. For more information, contact Tim Miller of the Laguna Beach Police Department at 497-3311.
