A federal judge in Winston-Salem, N. C., ordered 15 of 60 defendants dropped from a $48-million lawsuit stemming from the deaths of five Communist Workers Party members at a 1979 “Death to the Klan” rally in Greensboro, N. C. No policemen were present as the groups clashed and gunfire broke out. Meanwhile, the remaining defendants began presenting their case after the plaintiffs finished testifying.
