CHP TO USE WONDER’S ‘DRUNK’ SONG

Singer Stevie Wonder has granted the California Highway Patrol permission to use his song, “Don’t Drive Drunk,” in a campaign to reduce accidents involving young adults, authorities said.

June is graduation month and the Highway Patrol has turned its attention to reducing the 20,000 yearly deaths of high school and college students in the state. Nearly twice the number of deaths and injuries, about 7,200, occur during May and June.

“It’s the time of the year when high school and college students want to have a good time and party,” CHP spokesman Jon West said. “We want them to make it to their future.”
