Bankruptcy Closes Perino’s
Perino’s, the elegant mid-Wilshire restaurant that has been a Los Angeles institution for five decades, was closed today amid bankruptcy proceedings.
The owners are attempting to negotiate sale of the business and property for $5.5 million but have found no immediate takers, according to a spokesman for the bankruptcy trustee. The landmark world-class restaurant, which has been a favorite dining spot for influential politicians and film stars including Cole Porter, Eleanor Roosevelt, Richard Nixon and Bugsy Siegel, has been the subject of proceedings in bankruptcy court in Los Angeles since February.
