Pole Granted Asylum

COPENHAGEN — A member of the Polish Communist Party’s Central Committee has been granted political asylum in Denmark, police confirmed Saturday.
Josef Zimnicki, his wife and two other family members arrived in Copenhagen last February on a ferry from the Polish Baltic Sea port of Swinouscie, said a police intelligence duty officer.
