Actor Herve Villechaize, co-star of the television series “Fantasy Island,” pleaded no contest Wednesday in Burbank Municipal Court to one misdemeanor charge of possessing a loaded handgun in public. He was fined $425 and sentenced to one year of summary probation.

Villechaize, who played Tattoo in the former TV show, was arrested May 15 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank after he reportedly began acting “disruptively” and police noticed a .38-caliber handgun in a bag he was carrying, Burbank police said.

Villechaize, 42, also was charged with possession of a loaded handgun, but that charge was dropped, Deputy City Prosecutor Terry Stevenson said. Under summary probation, Villechaize is not required to report to a judge or a probation officer, Stevenson said.
