School Day Extension Studied: Should there be six or seven periods in a school day? That is the question facing teachers, administrators and students at Laguna Beach High School. All will get a chance to air their views tonight as board members of Laguna Beach Unified School District meet to study the issue. District Supt. Billy Barnes said that the board, following state guidelines, has extended the school day by 19 minutes in each of the last two years and may well decide to add more minutes in the coming year. If a seventh period is approved, Barnes expects it to be in place by the 1986-87 school year. The meeting will begin at 7:30 p.m. at the district’s headquarters, 550 Blumont St.
