Fruit Pest Found in Yuba City Store

Maggots of the Mexican fruit fly, one of the most destructive agricultural pests, have been found in a mango bought in a Yuba City market, state farm officials report.

Isi Siddiqui, head of the Plant Industry Division of the state Food and Agriculture Department, urged all Californians to look for live fruit fly larvae in mangoes they buy.
